Initiative to improve English teaching
The British Council in India and Sri Lanka is making attempts to improve the teaching
and learning of English in the States by offering a range of teacher- development initiatives.
"One of the ways we do this is by offering teacher training programmes conducted by the UK English Language Teaching (ELT) experts in partnership with Indian teacher trainers to help Indian teachers
fulfill their desire for self-development and improvement and thus deliver better quality teaching to students," the British Council authorities said.
As a part of the ongoing programmes to improve teaching of English, the British Council has come up with a programme titled ''Train the Trainer - Teaching Grammar to Secondary School students '.
The programme is designed to provide teacher trainers input on various practical issues of English teaching methodology and teacher training, with
opportunities to discuss both theoretical and practical issues and some experiential work selected classroom procedures. It will equip trainers with tools and techniques for training programmes. More...
